Native Pony Winter Fair
Date Posted: 10th November 2014
As you are probably all aware by now the Winter Pony Show is moving from Stirling to Lanark Agricultural Centre.
I realise this may make it unattractive to some of the more northerly exhibitors who have supported the show so loyally over the last few years and made it so successful – to you I apologise.
We looked at several venues more central but it became clear after speaking to both Highland and Shetland supporters that pennage and facilities to prepare indoors at that time of year were criteria we had to keep in mind. When the Clydesdale Horse Society decided that Lanark was to be their venue, it became clear that our best option was to accept their kind invitation to join them there. The upside happily is that this new location will appeal to our many members and breeders in the Borders, West, Central and South of Scotland, and of course we can hopefully welcome some of our many members from the North of England, who may not have considered travelling to Stirling, but now see Lanark as an easily accessed venue, reached quickly from the A74.
It goes without saying that I hope many of our past supporters will come, and both old and new will be made most welcome. Schedules are available to download from the Scottish National Fat Stock Club, Highland Pony Society and Shetland Pony Society websites.
I hope to see many old and new names appear in the catalogue for this prestigious show.
